Buying land in the UK
Land for sale in the UK is thin on the ground and rarely advertised for long. Most parcels go through local agents or by word of mouth, and the ones that reach a portal are often under offer within weeks. Prices run from a few thousand pounds an acre for rough grazing to well past £10,000 an acre for good arable near demand.
AgLand turns that round. Tell us the type of land, the counties and the budget, and we email you the day something matching is listed by an owner or agent. Owners can see how many buyers want land like theirs before they decide to sell.

Get emailed instantly when land matching your criteria is listed. 100% free.

Land for sale: your questions
- How do I find land for sale in the UK?
- Listing sites show what is for sale today. AgLand works the other way round: tell us once what you want, where and for how much, and we email you the day a matching land is listed by an owner or agent. Registering is free.
- How many buyers are looking for land in the UK?
- 834 confirmed buyers on AgLand want land, and 91 of them will buy anywhere in the UK. The county pages show who is looking where.
- What do buyers spend on land?
- The median top budget across the UK is £200,000. Half of the 808 buyers who gave a budget top out between £70,000 and £500,000. These are the most each buyer says they will spend, not sale prices, and they vary a lot by county.
- What kind of land can I register for?
- Anything rural: pasture, arable, bare land, amenity land, woodland, smallholdings, equestrian land, building plots, orchards, and more. Tick as many types as would suit you, and as many counties.
- Can I buy land without planning permission and build on it?
- Not for a house, in most cases. Agricultural land comes with limited permitted development for farm buildings, and a new dwelling needs full permission or a specific route such as Class Q. Our planning guides explain what is allowed.
- Does it cost anything to register?
- No. Registering and connecting with a seller are both free for buyers, and your name and contact details stay private until you choose to connect.
